Introducing Paul from the Holt Town Council Maintenance Team. Paul is one of two maintenance men who are employed by the Town Council to look after the town.

Paul has been working hard throughout the pandemic, grass cutting, planting, litter picking and emptying the bins in the Memorial Gardens and on Spout Hills. If you see Paul around the town make sure you give him a wave!

Spout Hills has been a lifeline to many during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing a local safe space for residents to enjoy their daily exercise. Spout Hills is a beautiful 14-acre green space, rich in wildlife and lies only a stone’s throw from Holt Town Centre. The site is managed by Holt Town Council with all maintenance being carried out by volunteers who tend to the site.

Maintaining a 14-acre site is quite a task for the volunteers, this week it was made that much easier as the Town Council purchased a new mower for the volunteers to use. The mower is designed for slopes and rough terrain and is much easier to handle with power steering. The mower is very effective and has been welcomed by the volunteers.

I am pleased to tell you that Holt Town Council have now re-opened the George V Play Park. There are a few new rules to follow to ensure everyone remains safe, please read the poster below before playing at the park.

The park will be regularly inspected and Government Advice closely monitored, the Town Council reserves the right to close the play park again if the rules are not followed or if advice changes.

We hope everyone enjoys playing at the park.

In light of the recent fire at Budgens, North Norfolk District Council’s Leader Sarah Butikofer has announced free car parking for two hours, in both Station Road and Albert Street car parks, until the end of July. This is hugely welcomed as now, more than ever, the Town Council want to encourage shoppers into Holt to support local businesses. The Town Council wishes to thank NNDC for their kind gesture and all the support they have given the town of Holt, particularly as we acknowledge that the recent pandemic has put an enormous strain on the District Council’s Budget.

This now means that all parking is free in Holt for the first two hours until the end of July.

Everyone at Holt Town Council are devastated to hear about the fire at Budgens. It is an ongoing incident so please stay away from the area whilst the Fire Service work to control the fire safely.
