Born and raised in Holt. I have been married for 48 years with 3 sons, 5 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. All still live or are very close to the town.
I worked for Norfolk County Council Highways for 46 years and retired in 2024. During this time, I have been involved in all aspects of Highways work, starting with manual work, and then moving into the office with responsibility and supervision of all areas of routine maintenance of highways including, supervision of new developments.
In 1976 I followed in my father’s footsteps by joining Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service as an On Call firefighter in the town. In 1995 I took over as Watch Manager of the station. A position I still hold.
